Is it hard to obtain a pardon from a governor in the state of kentucky ?

I would like to try to get a visa and a possible citizenship for Canada but I think I read that you have to have no criminal record.I have wondered if it is possible to get a pardon and it still be sufficient for this.Does anyone know about this ? Thanks.
